List of verified meters

The following list contains M-Bus meters which had been tested and are fully functional with our Ethernet to M-Bus converters operating in the Smart M-Bus application mode. The list contains examples of readout values in various forms of processing – HTML, XML, XML REST and CSV.

The Ethernet converters in the Smart M-Bus application mode can only process standard M-Bus messages without specific manufacturer defined data formats. Manufacturer specific data can be read only by a direct M-Bus communication with a post processing of the M-Bus response in an upper level of the communication system.

The Smart M-Bus application mode stores responses from the basic data request REQ_UD2.

The compatibility of meters with the M-Bus to RS485 and RS232 converters is not affected and is completely guaranteed. All converters fully comply with the M-Bus specification.

Crompton Instruments / TE Connectivity energy meters with DRM-M add-on module

The DRM-M is an optional infra-red communication system for M-Bus by TE Connectivity. It is an add-on module that enables meter readout via M-Bus communication with TE’s MID electricity meters.

The module is available for the following TE product lines:

  • Energy Meter Single-phase, Direct Connection
  • Energy Meter Three-phase, CT Operated
  • Energy Meter Three-phase, Direct Connection

Not all meters from these lines require this module for M-Bus communication and the verified compatibility currently applies only to communication using the add-on module.
